Jessie Da Silva is a Canadian ready-to-wear womenswear label for those who love to test boundaries and break norms. Those who know that they are not bound to what society thinks they are *supposed* to wear...and drip in confidence, always.
*All of Jessie's collections are ethically made in downtown Toronto.
Before the creation of her debut label 'LACEDSILK', Jessie studied Fashion Design and Fashion Business at George Brown College. Here, her obsession with design, technique and ethics really manifested. After assisting designers, managing boutiques, and interning with the Wardrobe Director of ET Canada- it became clear what was next.
In September 2016, Jessie presented LACEDSILK's SS17 collection at Vancouver Fashion Week. The collection got great publicity in Elle Canada and Vogue UK.
Today, celebrities such as Lottie Moss, Grego Minot, Liz Trinnear, Mouna Traore, Emilia McCarthy, and Melanie Scrofano are seen wearing Jessie Da Silva to red carpet events, television appearances, and on magazine covers. In July 2018, Jessie's SS18 Collection was available at CONCEPT in Yorkdale, which received an incredible response. In 2019, the label LACEDSILK evolved to today's namesake, Jessie Da Silva.
Da Silva strives to design swoon-worthy pieces, with the promise that they will always be ethically made in Canada.
We believe it starts with us. Everyone deserves respect. Everyone deserves fair pay. Everyone deserves a safe workplace. We believe in an ethical, sustainable, sweatshop-free industry.
That's why our pieces are locally manufactured in Canada. Our working conditions are some of the most sustainable in the world. Our production is small batch and made-to-order, minimizing production waste as much as possible. We put the time in to ensure A+ quality. Every piece that leaves our studio was made with all the love. <3
